Does the City offer any financial programs/incentives for development?

The City of Hamilton offers financial assistance programs in the form of loans and grants to assist with various costs associated with the development/redevelopment of brownfield sites, downtown residential redevelopment and Business Improvement Areas.

What are "brownfields" and where can I find information on the ERASE program?

"Brownfields" are abandoned, idled or underused industrial or commercial properties in built-up urban areas where expansion or redevelopment is complicated by real or perceived environmental contamination, building deterioration/obsolescence, and/or inadequate infrastructure.
