The City of Hamilton’s Small Business Enterprise Centre is hosting the following business development training courses for anyone interested in learning about business.
10 Steps to Starting a Business
This workshop provides a general overview of items you will need to consider when starting a business. Including: market research, business structure, registrations, regulations licences, taxes financing options and insurance.

Time: 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Workshop Fee: $30 plus HST. Fee includes: 10 Steps to Starting a Business CD, all related handout materials and light lunch (please specify any dietary restrictions at the time of registration)
Business Planning and Marketing Strategies
This Workshop provides guidance on writing a business plan and develop marketing strategies.

Workshop Fee: $45 plus HST
Bookkeeping Basics
In this workshop you will learn good reasons for keeping good business records and the fundamentals of a bookkeeping system.

Aboriginal Business Day
Aboriginal entrepreneurs, as well as individuals thinking of starting a business will be given the opportunity to learn about intergovernmental business support services and attend roundtable discussions on pertinent business topics. Inlcudes presentations from: Ministry of Economic Development and Innovation, Ministry of Aboriginal Affairs, Ontario Co-Operative Association, Hamilton Regional Indian Centre, Small Business Enterprise Centre, Aboriginal Business Canada, Indian Agricultural Program of Ontario, Grand River Employment and Training, Canadian Youth Business Foundation, and Two Rivers Community Development Centre.
