Climate

Reaching average highs of 26.3° C (79.4° F) in the summer months and experiencing seasonal averages as low as –9.7° C (14.5° F) in the winter months, City of Hamilton experiences a wide temperature range. As a result, the climate for the area between Hamilton and Niagara (known as a Golden Horseshoe) is ideal for growing crops especially fruit. Boasting four full seasons, City of Hamilton is an ideal destination to visit.

June through August, the City enjoys warm days with an average temperature of 25° C (77° F). Although the nights can be cool, the temperature rarely dips below 14° C (57.2° F). Mid-September to mid-November can range between a mild Indian summer to a cool autumn. The daytime average temperature is 13.8° C (56.9° F) and 4.7° C (40.5° F) at night. The coldest months of the year are January to mid-March, with temperature averages 0.2° C (32° F) for the daytime high and –7.8° C (46° F) for night.

Springtime is just around the corner in March, coming with an awakening of plant life and a rise in temperature. The temperature averages in April and May are 14.8° C (58.7° F) for a daytime high and 4° C (39° F) for night.
