Hamilton listed in Top 100 global economic ranking

The Hamilton metropolitan area ranks in thetop 100 of the world’s large centres for its economic performance over the past two years.

Hamilton ranks 83rd on a list of 200 metro areas created by the Washington, D.C.-basedBrookings Institution. Its 2011 Global Metro Monitor ranks the economic performance of 200 global centres by gross domestic product (income) and employment for the years 2010 and 2011.

Award to recognize science & engineering contribution to the motion picture industry

Hamilton firm getting Academy Award for camera system

The company, one of the first tenants in the McMaster Innovation Park, will be honoured next month by the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences — the group that gives out the Oscars — for its aerial camera equipment called the Pictorvision Eclipse. It’s a special mount that can be attached to aircraft and other platforms allowing rock steady pictures from a bouncing platform.
